{"id":925,"date":"2022-04-08T16:23:46","date_gmt":"2022-04-08T14:23:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/help.ino.cx\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=925"},"modified":"2024-10-18T14:39:03","modified_gmt":"2024-10-18T12:39:03","slug":"adding-new-roles","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/help.ino.cx\/index.php\/help-center\/adding-new-roles\/","title":{"rendered":"Roles &#8211; Set them up"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/help.ino.cx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Essential-smart-licences.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4220\" style=\"width:250px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>[<em>Reading time: 2 minutes<\/em>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"overview\">Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u2018<strong>Roles<\/strong>\u2018 module in the&nbsp;<strong>Maker<\/strong>&nbsp;allows configuration of rights of users in the <strong>Maker<\/strong>, the <strong>Reporter<\/strong> and in &#8220;<strong>My account&#8221;<\/strong>, such as creation, modification, deletion, export, import, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/help.ino.cx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Roles.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4141\" style=\"width:200px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If certain permissions are not associated with the role, some actions may not even be displayed for the user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The list of everything the user can see or do in the Maker will depend on his role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: if the user is super-admin and manager, his role is ignored in the Reporter and Maker.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike profiles, a user can only have one role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prerequisites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To set up their role in the Maker, users must have a role that allows them to modify their own information ( Maker &gt; Users &gt; Roles &gt; All apps &gt; My account : modification \u2705).<br><em>Note: if you have the right to modify all users (Maker &gt; User &gt; Roles &gt; Maker &gt; Users: modification \u2705) you will be able to modify them regardless of the \u2018my account\u2019 settings.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:26px\">Configuring (Maker)<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The &#8216;Role&#8217; sub-module can be found in the Maker&#8217;s &#8216;Users&#8217; module.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>You will find a list of previously created roles, if any. You can create up to 50 different roles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For each role, you can: open it (arrow), duplicate it, view its history, view its dependencies and tags (cogwheel), modify it (pencil), delete it (bin). If the bin is greyed out, you cannot modify a role that is in use by a user. Click on \u2018view dependencies\u2019 to find out where.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"276\" height=\"134\" src=\"https:\/\/help.ino.cx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4143\" style=\"width:200px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>Each role has <strong>three tabs<\/strong>: Maker, Reporter and All apps, with specific rights that will match your needs.<\/p>\n<p>The role interface looks like this:<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2874\" height=\"1450\" src=\"https:\/\/help.ino.cx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Capture-de\u0301cran-2024-10-18-a\u0300-10.07.08.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4237\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>You can access 3 buttons\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"858\" height=\"74\" src=\"https:\/\/help.ino.cx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4146\" style=\"width:370px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Edit mode:<\/strong> allows you to configure each module&#8217;s rights separately, which can come in handy for users who have limited needs for the Maker\/Reporter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Options:<\/strong> for giving\/revoking a particular right (e.g. creation) on all modules.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Disallow the Maker (or disallow the Reporter) :<\/strong> the user won&#8217;t have any access to the Maker (or Reporter).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Note: creation, modification and deletion rights cannot be granted without reading.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When edit mode is activated, each module looks like this:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4147\" src=\"https:\/\/help.ino.cx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/image-6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"304\" \/><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Drop-down menu next to the module title: giving\/revoking rights on all sub-modules.<\/li>\n<li>On\/off button: access to the sub-module, the user is on read-only, if no checkboxes below are checked. If the button is off, the sub-module is greyed out in and disappears from the menu (disabled in the Maker, Reporter or My account).<\/li>\n<li>Checkboxes: check the rights you wish to give the user.
