One row is one recording of one call.

It covers call recordings only. The data source is available from Reporter > ‘Data source‘ > ‘Recordings‘. Reading it requires the right to read data sources.

Like all data sources, it can be used to create explorations containing KPIs, which can then be placed on dashboards, and its contents can be exported. No indicator template is offered on this data source, so the indicators must be created from scratch. The audio file itself is not played or downloaded from the Reporter.

Note: a second data source carries the same name, ‘Audio recordings‘, under the ‘Invoicing data sources‘ category. It is not the same data and does not answer the same questions. See the last section of this article.

1. Prerequisites

You also need the following permissions:

Access to the Reporter.

The right to create, edit and delete data sources.

The right to export, in order to generate an export.

Note: the number of data sources you can create is limited per platform. The corresponding limit is ‘Number of data sources’.

2. Understanding this data source

2.1 The period applied

A period is always applied: the data source opens on the current day, and the filter on ‘Recording date‘ can be widened but not removed: it carries a padlock and the tooltip ‘Default filter‘.

2.2 Understandung the Rows

A row is not final when it is created. The recording is written at the end of the call with its durations, its queue and its advisor, and the transcription, the call summary, the stereo mix, the external upload and the sentiment analysis are then completed by background processes, several minutes later. The same recording read twice, an hour apart, can therefore show different values in those columns.

A row exists only as long as the recording does. Deleting a recording removes both the audio file and the row, and the same happens when the retention period configured for your platform expires. That period can also be set specifically for a queue or for a call campaign, in which case the recordings distributed through it follow their own retention.

2.3 Understanding the values

Values are displayed as follows. Durations appear as minutes and seconds, or as hours, minutes and seconds beyond an hour. Dates and times are displayed in your own time zone. Yes and no values appear as words. An empty value appears as ‘No data‘.

3. Default columns

Recording ID – Unique identifier of the recording.

Recording date – Date and time the recording started.

File name – Name of the stored audio file.

Routing type – How the call was routed: direct or Smart.

Recording duration – Length of the recording.

Pause duration – Time the recording spent paused.

Interaction ID – Identifier of the interaction the recording belongs to.

Direction – Incoming or outgoing.

Contact – The far-end number or address of the interaction. It is not when an external deposit is configured to hand the file over instead.

Configuration – Whether the recording is mono or stereo.

Automatic recording – Whether the recording started from the configuration rather than from an action by the advisor.

Queue – Name of the queue the call was distributed through. Empty for a campaign call.

User – The advisor on the call.

Transcription status – Where the transcription of the recording stands.

Call summary status – Where the automatic call summary stands: in progress, skipped, completed or in error. It is skipped when the call is shorter than the minimum duration set for summaries.

Stereo mix status – Where the mixing of the two channels stands: in progress, completed or in error. Empty when the recording is mono.

External upload status – Where the transfer of the file to your external deposit stands.

Sentiment analysis result – Overall sentiment of the conversation: neutral, mostly positive, mostly negative, positive or negative.

Note: when the audio file is not stored on the platform, the transcription and the call summary are not run, so their columns stay empty.

4.
