Repository connectors – Set them up

[Reading time: 4 minutes]

Overview

A repository connector is a link between INO cx and an external storage space, allowing files to be saved outside INO cx servers. By default, files are stored within INO cx, but they can also be stored on a repository connector or only on it.

Using a repository connector is optional and serves several purposes. Some companies must store their recordings on their own servers for regulatory reasons.

Files that can be stored on a repository connector come from the following features: voice mailbox, queue, IVR recorder, voice campaigns, scheduled reports.

1. Creating a new repository connector

Repository connectors are configured in the Maker, under the Data module, in the Repository connectors submodule.

List of repository connectors

This section displays all previously created connectors with the following details:

  • Name

  • Reference

  • Type:

    • S3: A cloud storage service that allows scalable object storage.

    • FTP (File Transfer Protocol): A standard protocol for transferring files between computers over a network.

  • Folder path: The storage location of the files.

  • Store files on INO cx: Indicates whether files are also stored on INO cx.

  • Status: Active/Error. If “Error,” a new test is required.

Available Actions:

  • Arrow button: Open the repository connector.
  • Cogged wheel: Duplicate, view history, check dependencies, add tags, or test the repository connector (which updates the status to active or error).
  • Edit button (pencil): Modify the repository connector.
  • Delete button (trash bin): Delete the repository connector. If grayed out, the connector is being used elsewhere. Click “View dependencies” to check where it is used.

Creating a connector

  1. Click Create.
  2. Fill in the following details:

    • Name

    • Reference

    • Store files on INO cx (Yes/No). If “No,” be aware of the risk of file loss.

    • Type: S3 or FTP.

If you choose S3, provide:

  • Access key: Authentication key.

  • Secret key: Secret access key.

  • Region: The region where the storage bucket is located.

  • Bucket name: Name of the storage container.

  • Folder path: The folder will be created if it does not exist.

If you choose FTP, provide:

  • Secure FTP (FTPS) (Yes/No): Enables secure FTP mode.

  • Host: FTP server address.

  • Port: Connection port.

  • User name: Login credentials.

  • Password: Authentication password.

  • Folder path: Directory for file storage.

2. Granting access permissions

Prerequisites

Users must have the appropriate permissions in Maker, in the Role:

  • Maker: Access to voice mailboxes, queues, IVR recorders, and voice campaigns.

  • Reporter: Access to explorations.

User must also have the right to access repository connectors in the Role.

Assigning the connector to modules

Once all this has been set up in the Maker, in the repository connectors sub-module, you’ll need to add the rights to access the recordings.

  • Voice mailbox: In Maker, go to Toolbox > Voice Mailbox. When creating or editing a voice mailbox, select the repository connector from the dropdown menu.
  • Queue: In Maker, go to Routing > Queues, select the queue, then go to Settings > Processing > Recordings and choose the appropriate repository connector.
  • IVR recorder: In Maker, go to Toolbox > IVR Recorders. When creating or editing an IVR recorder, select the repository connector from the dropdown menu.
  • Voice campaign: In Maker, go to Campaigns > Voice campaigns, open the campaign settings, then navigate to Processing > Recording and choose the repository connector.
  • Scheduled report: In Reporter, go to Explorations > Scheduled Reports, select a scheduled report, and choose the repository connector.

Notes: Ensure that the correct repository connector is selected to avoid misdirected storage. If a repository connector is not available in the dropdown, verify that it has been created and is active.

3. Accessing file upload history

Once created, open the repository connector to view the history of uploaded files.

Note: Files will only appear in the history if they were also stored on INO cx.
