Administrator (Admin) – Reporter

[Reading time: 1 minute]

If you want to know what it means to be an admin in the Maker and the Banner, see the “Administrator (Admin) – Set it up” and “Administrator (Admin) – Use it” articles.

L’attribut alt de cette image est vide, son nom de fichier est Admin-2.png.

Overview

The admin in the Reporter has full access, bypassing the standard limitations of roles and owners. This ensures that administrators have comprehensive visibility and authority over all elements within the Reporter.

⚠️Important: the rights granted by the license type (Smart or Essential) take precedence over the administrator status.

Key features of the admin status

1. Bypassing role limitations

Admins have unrestricted access (open, modify, delete) to:

  • Data sources
  • Explorations
  • Dashboards
  • Explorers
  • Scenarios

This overrides the usual permissions that restrict roles from accessing or editing certain entities ➡️ for the admin, role is ignored in the Reporter (as in the Maker).

2. Owner/guest system override

In the owner/guest system, admins are not restricted by ownership or invitation status. They can:

  • View all entities, even those they are not explicitly assigned to as owners or guests.

  • Perform any action on these entities, including editing, deleting, or reassigning ownership.

Important consideration

Actions performed by admins can affect all users and entities. It is recommended to give and use this status responsibly.
